CONTENT INTEGRATION
Content Integration is directed at aligning content and information from
different sources/areas. The requirements of work can range across the
spectrum of complexity.
Across
the Spectrum
For instance, a first level requirement might be integrating elements of
the brand identity (logos, text, styles) on the Web site post-merger. A
next-level assignment might be unifying content from 3 Web sites and several
documents to create a single-window view of the information on a CD.
Activities that often lead to content integration include:
- Consolidation of content from disparate "islands" of
information
- Transformation of the corporate structure or image
- Mergers and acquisitions
Sources can range from pdf to MS-Word, legacy documents to Excel sheets,
CDs to databases.
